... Rhinestones

Here is my take on the Sketchy Thursdays second chance challenge posted friday.  I chose to do a page layout versus a card.  I am very behind on my pictures and have been using these challenges to give me the motivation to catch up.  Let me know what you think...

Some close ups of the little details.  I had fun with rhinestones and netting.  Ironically the pictures are from a conference called "No Frills" and on this layout I wanted to glitz it up.

...Bird Heaven

I got to see and touch a baby penguin (sorry no pictures) yesterday. He was so sweet and furry. I also got to see some other interesting birds up-close. I have an in... my sister works in the bird department at our zoo. The first one we got to play with was an African Hornbill (?) named Max after Max Factor because of his beautiful eyelashes. 

 

Then came the parrot! This is Ruby and she likes to ask for kisses and tell herself she is a good girl.  Of course I was not going to put my face that close to a birds beak and risk her biting my lip off.  My sister, the bird training however is that brave!

There we a couple more birds but these were my favorites.  It was an awesome day.  I always hear about work from my sister and all the birds she works with but it was fun to get to meet them and see where she works everyday! I love my sister.

... Black Friday

So I decided to atempt shopping today.  My sister and I had our hearts set on a dyson vacuum, specifically the animal hair one.  Our vacuum died a few weeks ago and we have been holding out for this very day.  We found out that we could order it online at Best Buy and still get the $200 discount but have to pay shipping and wait two weeks for it.  We ordered it because we were afraid that is would be sold out by the time we go there as we refused to stand in line for hours for a vacuum.  This morning we went to Target to check things out, and there to our amazement were like 10 of them.  Of course we bought it so that we could have it now! Of course to have it now, I am sitting on hold with Best Buy trying to cancel the original purchase.  Oh to be on hold at 6am. 

Note: when shopping on Black Friday, don't get a cart if you don't plan to get something you can't carry.  Everyone and their brother had a cart and they all think they will fit it between things if they just push hard enough.  You won't fit! And stop hitting me in the back of the ankle, I can't go any faster.  Pin It

... Creativity

The moment I saw this sketch from Sketchy Thursdays, I knew what I wanted to do with it. In the last few weeks I have gotten back into my scrapbooking obsession and challenges like this get my creativity pumping.  Here is what the sketch looked like.

Here is my take... I was trying to think outside the box (or circle in this case lol).

I thought it might be interesting to put the pictures in the circle.  I think it turned out well.  What do you think? I don't know if Sketchy Thursday's picks a "winner" as it is my first attempt however I am keeping my fingers crossed for an honorable mention!

Hi Everybody...

As I write that I realize there might not be anybody to be saying hello to as I have no followers at this time but I have a feeling I will be an overnight sensation!!! LOL

So here it is my newest blog.  I wanted to devote this blog to my thoughts on random things going on in my life hence a little dash of.... everything.  I am really into scrapbooking, movies, and music! I plan to let you into a piece of my life and I would love to hear about yours as well.  Comments are always appreciated!!
