… Where magic happens

As soon as I saw the sketch at Sketchy Thursdays, I knew what pictures to use.  I took so many pics of the rides and scenery while at DisneyWorld but haven’t been able to figure out how to use them.  I managed to get 10 pictures on one layout!!!! I used the red, white, and blue theme for Scrap Our Stash July challenge.  The background paper had black mickey ears but I used royal blue smooch to give them a blue tint.  I am also going to enter this in the Sketches in Thyme open sketch challenge.

We had a pretty bad day at work on Thursday so I decided to make a couple of cards to brighten spirits. First is for our intern. She is here from Ohio and is pretty much amazing. She has been working really hard and just wanted to tell her so!

And then for my boss… she has been dealing with a lot of drama, I did a play on the Wizard of Oz. This is one of her favorite movies and after seeing Julie Tucker-Wolek’s use of the new Oz papers, I felt inspired to make this card.

There really are not many bosses like her! Both of these will be entered in challenges for Birds of a Feather, this new shop and forum I found this week.

… Conquering the Rain

Here is another layout from the rainy day we experienced at Epcot Center.  We should have known rain was coming from the storm-a-brewing above but that did not stop us from seeing Paris.  We conquered that storm with our plastic poncho’s.  

I “pagerized” Joni from Scrap Our Stash.  I downscaled her layout and brightened it up with pinks and greens. 

The ruffle at the bottom of the layout is crinkled tissue paper for the Punky Scraps challenge.  I like how it turned out.

… sick on vacation

I hate it when I have vacation time and then I get sick :( It always seems to work that way.  I had visions of scapping and sewing all weekend and instead I found myself sipping 7up, eating crackers, and drifting in and out of sleep for four days.  Not my idea of  a great vaca :(  Anyway…. I did drag myself out of bed to do two layouts.  I am not thrilled with either of them, probably cause I was feeling poopy but I thought I would post them nonetheless. 

This first one, I used a piece of screen left over from my screening my sliding door for the first time process, to get a cool misting effect.  There is a close up to see what I mean.

 

Next up is some goofy pictures of my sister from our first night at Magic Kingdom.  We ate ice cream and then she went crazy! lol
