… Born to fly

Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day! 

Last year on this day, I was in LA out in the rain protesting NBC pushing Conan out of his 11:35 time slot.  Now Coco is back on the air and I am back to laughing regularly between the hours of 11pm and 12am.  Are there any other Conan fans out there in the scrapbooking world?

This week at Scrap It With A Song, we are using inspiration from Sara Evan’s song Born to Fly.  This is one of my faves. It was hard to narrow down what lyric I was gonna go with but when I saw this picture of my bf and her guys I knew that the “I love my folks” line was perfect! Although it is my design team layout for Scrap It With A Song, I was able to incorporate the Guest Designer Challenge from Sketchy Thursdays.  Here is the sketch for this challenge:

COCONUTS!!!!!!!!!!!

I have seen Conan… LIVE!!!!!!!!!  I was there on the very first night in the front row!!!!!! I can hardly believe it.  If you don’t know it already, I am Team COCO all the way.   Now on to some loose ends!!!!!!! I am now a lipstick chick for the XOXO girls!!!!! Yeah.  Here is my November layout:

... i obviously can't spell

So I have been exposed as a non-speller. I have been suffering from the lack of correct spelling since I was a child. It was something that in my adult life I had thought I overcame and then today when i was cropping my next layout, i discovered that i am still inflicted. Let's see if you notice... it is pretty obvious.

This is my entry for These are a Few of My Favorite... Fictional Characters. I couldn't just pick one so I picked 9 and that was even hard. There were quite a few that almost made the cut! Here is what I picked:

1. Anne of Green Gables ( I love the PBS Movie and Megan Follows!!!)
2. The Office Cast (I adore these characters and like to think I am a little bit Michael and a little bit Jim!)
3. Marshall & Lily (from How I Met Your Mother)
4. Hermey (I have a collection of Hermey stuff that I put out every Christmas time. This is my favorite kid christmas movie!!!)
5. PACEY Witter!!!!!! (By far the best character Joshua has ever played and I love me some Joshua!!!)
6. Gilly!!! (This is a SNL character that is completely ridiculous but always makes me laugh)
7. Conando (Conan's mexican soap opera alterego... Si Conando)
8. ET (Who could not love this little alien!!!)
9. DEXTER Morgan (My favorite friendly serial killer. It seems weird to root for a serial killer but every week I do!)

CoCo

The Chin has got to go go... I want CoCo!

I cannot believe this ridiculousness. Conan was given the Tonight Show because he earned it. He put in his time and this was the next step for him. Jay was given an unjust opportunity to stay on and try something new AND it failed. BIG TIME. Do the math. If Jay wasn't getting viewers at 10pm and the affiliates weren't getting viewers at 11pm (which is why they want to make this lineup change), then of course Conan wouldn't be getting more viewers at 11:35pm. It took Jay years to get the ratings he did on the tonight show so why is Conan only getting 7 months. I think the fact that Conan has said he will not move to 12:05 is very classy. He is not only thinking of himself and the big slap in the face that gives him but what that does to the Tonight Show and Jimmy Fallon on Late Night. Of course Jay could careless who this affects anyone but himself. I am completely biased here. I have NEVER like Jay Leno. As a kid I remember watching that movie about the Jay and David Letterman drama and I always thought Jay was a slime bucket. This is a lot like when NBC screwed over David Letterman... obviously NBC doesn't know funny men when they have them. Well where ever Conan goes, I will follow. I was able to see him in San Fran while hosting Late Night and I also was there for his second night of the Tonight Show where he got his infamous nickname "CoCo". I am going to try to get tickets before Feb. 12 in preparation for the inevitable end of the Tonight Show as we know it. I want CoCo!!!! Pin It
