Project Life Fun

I recently bought a project life kit for my bf and have opened it all up to embellish some of the cards especially for her family.  Here is an example of some of the cards I created.  The Happy Birthday card is one of my faves.  I took a bunch of scrap paper and a punch to create this confetti.  I then sewed it in this vellum pouch to create a shaker project life card.

Have any of you been adding extra embellishments to your project life cards?

Red, Wreath, and Blue

I don’t know about you but I am addicted to looking at diy wreaths on Pinterest.  I have put together a festive wreath for the fourth of July.

I took a Dollar Store pool noodle and wrapped it with red, white, and blue yarn I got for less than $2 a roll.  I cut out some white felt stars and finished it off with a white ribbon at the top. The most time consuming part is wrapping the noodle in the yarn but it only took me an evening while catching up on TV to put together and cost less than $10 bucks.  The best part is that it looks awesome on my front door!!!!

Ariel Alterations

A couple months ago I got a little mermaid postcard from AAA. I saved it cause one of my girlfriends loves, LOVES, loves Ariel.  When I say love, I mean she is obsessed.  Last year I actually made her an Ariel snuggie for Christmas.  Anyway… she recently got a great new job so I pulled out the postcard to turn it into a congrats card for her.  I decided to add some paint, glitter, chipboard letters, and washi tape (of course).  She absolutely loved it… I think it turned out pretty well.  What do you think?! Did I do Ariel justice?

Congrats Kia 2 Congrats Kia

It’s always nice to say Thanks!

For our 47 challenge at XOXO we are showing off thank you cards.  I know how much I love getting a handmade card so I always make sure to keep a few thank you cards that I have made on hand in the office.  I find it really brightens someone’s day when they get a thank you and boy do they love getting a thank you that you have made yourself.  Here is one that I put together.  The great thing about this card is that I was able to use up some scraps and odds and ends I had sitting around!! THANKS for stopping by!

Card Crazy!!

Pretty Pink Posh is hosting her 10 Minute Craft Dash with pink, navy, and aqua as the color challenge (see the banner below).

I quickly pulled together supplies from these three colors.  Lucky for me I pretty much sort everything by color so it makes challenges like this much easier.  My first card is LUCKY…

Lucky Card

I have been wanting to use the cute tiny, tiny clothes pin and I think it added a great touch. This card took me 9 minutes and 32 seconds because I couldn’t find the right alpha.

Since I had out the supplies, I decided to make one more.  I pulled out all my aqua/teal washi to create the background and added some pink washi to the butterflies.  This one only took 7 minutes and 3 seconds.

This challenge was a lot of fun and I can’t wait for the next one!!!

Black & Yellow

Scraptastic Club has a pinterest challenge going on this month that I had to take a stab at.  The challenge was to take something you found on pinterest to inspire a layout.  I decided it would be fun to put my first name into pinterest and see what inspiration I would find from that.  I have somewhat a unique name – Faye.  I came across this artwork by Faye Moorhouse and loved the colors and shapes. I rotated the image and came up with this….
